Week 7 – The UI Changes
Ever look at a webpage one day and the next, it has completely changed? Well, I have, and it was due to Microsoft rebranding to CoPilot for their Office365 web page. It was a huge eye changer and took me awhile to find where everything is. But luckily for my team, we didn’t move anything! We did some massive UI changes this week, improved on somethings, and even added more details to everything. I will say, this app is coming along swimmingly!
UI: Look, it’s so pretty
This week, my team and I did some massive UI changes to our app. We have added user settings will allow you to make some significant visual changes. This way, you can utilize our app in various way. We have even added some more icon and logos throughout the app to give it more POP. All I can say is thank you to Google’s open-source styling! And that is technically what this app is about. Using outside APIs, AIs, systems to develop a fully functioning application.
Bugs: Oh, get the spray
Ever looked at an English paper (or a blog post) and see SEVERL grammar issues, typos, and things that just don’t make sense? Well, that happens with coding. Sometimes you see feature and start to notice some things that don’t seem like they should be there. Or see something that should be there but isn’t. With every development, there is bound to be some bugs and issues that come along the way. I can say right now, there are actually about five different bugs in the code that I need to fix. Not because someone did something wrong, but because it was overlooked. Which does happen and it’s okay!
With these bugs, it will take a few days to get them corrected and that is going to be one of my key focuses next week. Along with putting some new things onto the login page of the app. Opps, did I just give away a feature :D. Well, now you know! There is a login page for our application! But that is all I am going to be telling you (. . . for now).
Milestone 3: Learned some new things
This week, we met with our mentor and a graduate student at Full Sail University. We showed them our application, got a little bit of feedback, and by the end of our presentation, we stunningly surprised them both. To the point where the graduate student and the mentor said that we should get with the graduate on a project they are working on as consultants or contributors to get our names out there. Kind of a freelancing change and experience for a resume. I think that is not a bad idea!
Next Steps
So, next steps for me. I have already said that I’ll be working on fixing some of the bugs I have discovered in the app, and I plan on making some changes to the login page. I will also be working on getting some ToS and Privacy documentation uploaded so everyone has the chance to see how we protect them and how we expect the user to utilize our application. This will be something the user will have to agree to before they can fully create their account. Hopefully we will get individuals to read it and understand how we handle data and their privacy.
Short post this week. Didn’t too a lot of things since we are just putting on the final touches to our MVP features. Next, we will be diving into more enchantments (like we are now) by adding on some quality-of-life changes. Stay toon to that and have a great summer!
